The Lake District is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful parts of unspoilt countryside in the world. In order to get the most out of any visit guests will need to venture to locations that can only be reached by walking. Guests love our landscape photography course, but some of them want to stretch themselves to capture the perfect photograph.
Having lived in the area for over 13 years John has built up a detailed and extensive knowledge of the Lakes, this knowledge allows him to take guests just that little bit higher and further in order to capture some truly stunning images.
Guests on the active walking landscape photography course must be fit enough to walk up to six miles across uneven paths, often including fairly steep ascents and descents whilst carrying camera equipment and tripods. Guests also need to bring appropriate footwear for covering uneven ground, waterproof clothing, and waterproof coverings for their camera equipment / or plastic bags at a pinch. Ever the optimists we also recommend that you bring sun tan lotion as the past few years we have had spectacular weather. Bug spray is also recommended (Avon Skin So Soft comes highly recommended and is used by the SAS) please be aware that spray containing Deet may be corrosive to camera equipment and should be therefore treated with caution.
For those guests taking this landscape photography course the rewards can be dramatic and well worth any added effort. It is John’s intimate knowledge of the area that really makes this course special; his extensive photographic expertise is an added bonus.
