Overview
Lakeland Photographic Holidays has been established for 20 years and is privately owned by John and Gail Gravett. We provide a relaxing and informal location in the most beautiful part of the English Lake District and offer photographers, of all ages and all photographic abilities, the ideal environment in which to pursue their hobby and relax with their family and friends.
Our facilities include:
- personal coaching and guidance in all aspects of photography
- 3 full day guided photographic excursions every week tailored to meet
group and individual requirements for content and degree of physical
severity (attendance optional)
- Advice on photogenic locations around the Lake District;
- On a daily basis digital files can be downloaded, copied to CD and evenings are spent reviewing the days work in the comfort of our conservatory. John’s aim is to help each participant develop their own style using techniques in the field and through nightly feedback sessions’
- digital and film photography;
- superior full-board licensed accommodation with superb home cooked food using local Cumbrian produce

Workshops
Through all seasons we provide Landscape workshops which include excursions to parts of the Lake District often overlooked by the tourist guides, where guests are offered personalized coaching and tuition in all aspects of landscape photography.
LPH also offer a range of specialist workshops including:
- Limited Walking - less walking and more photography;
- Active walking workshop – where they go higher or longer than normal;
- Black & White workshops – using traditional or digital images to produce excellent black and white images;
- Getting to grips with Digital - an overview of the digital process from taking the picture right through to the final image;
