2013 Young Peoples Fully Escorted Landscape Workshop - 4 nights

Young people are always welcome on Lakeland Photo Holiday workshops, they are the perfect beginners photography courses allowing John the chance to inspire young photographers, encouraging their interest in landscape and wildlife photography.
The 4 night format is similar to our Landscape workshops, arriving on Sunday afternoon for 4pm start. Following refreshments and an opportunity to meet your colleagues, John will go through an introduction and Camera Surgery.
Dinner follws at 7pm and after dinner John will go through a selection of images taken around the Lakes.
On Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday after a full Cumbrian breakfast at 8.30am, John will take people out in the Landrover to a selected location, where all day is spent in the field learning Landscape Photography. After returning to LPH around 5.30, guests are then required to download their images, hopefully on to their own laptops (although computers are available in our digital room) and then select 10 images for the evening review with John. Dinner follows at 7pm and then all the 10 images from each person are reviewed by John in the lecture room, going through post production if required.
Guests leave after breakfast on Thursday morning.
Transport to and from Penrith Station (40 mile round trip) can be provided at a cost of £15 per person each way or a bus leaves Penrith Station at 3.15 arriving at Braithwaite (via Keswick) at 4.10, there is no charge for collection from Braithwaite.
On departure, guests can be dropped at Braithwaite at 9.55am for the return journey to Penrith by bus - trains should be booked from 11am onwards.
John has worked with a range of young people from beginner’s photography courses with Year 6 Primary School children, through to youngsters on their Duke of Edinburgh, with the Gold Award requiring four-day residential workshops. One of his first young students was his own daughter, Emma who became the youngest Licentiate of the Royal Photographic Society at aged 10 and a half.

Both John and Gail hold current Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) certificates and are very conscious of safe guarding the young people in their care.
The workshops are suitable for students of 11 years (year 7) and older, although all students under the age of 16 need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Students from the age of 16 are welcome to stay without supervision.
